Chance, 87, passed away suddenly Dec. 2 at the residence. He was born in Sevierville, Tenn., and lived in the Akron area most of his life. Mr. Chance retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 35 years service, and was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alice; son, Charles L. of Wilmington, N.C.; daughter, Elizabeth Robbins of Akron; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services Thursday, 1 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Rev. Howard D. Powell officiating. Entombment Greenlawn Memorial Park.
