(March 1, 1948 - May 21, 2012) Newell Edward “Ed” Ramsey, age 64, of Dandridge passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was owner and operator of Ramsey Construction. He was preceded in death by his aunts and uncle, Mary Williams, Anna Mae and Leon Witt; and brother-in-law Larry McGaha. He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Ramsey; mother, Betty Ramsey; sisters-in-law, Patricia McGaha Dandridge, Libby Gosnell and husband Danny; brother-in-law, Teddy Patterson and wife Clara all of Dandridge; aunts, Carolyn Ramsey Featherston and husband Larry of Jefferson City; Nancy Ramsey Rohrbach and husband Bart, and Alma Ramsey both of Knoxville; uncles, Charles Ramsey, Sanford James Ramsey and G. D Williams all of Newport; and a special friend Buffy; also several nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Masonic service will be held 7:45 pm Thursday May 24, 2012 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services following at 8:00 pm, with Rev. Bill Murr and Rev. Billy Ball officiating. The burial will be held 11:00 am Friday, May 25, 2012 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 pm Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the Masonic and the Funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cocke County Shrine Club or Newport Animal Shelter. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
