Philip Joseph Hart , 68, of Burkes Garden, Va., passed away Sept. 21, 2013 of cancer. He was born on May 13, 1945 in Claypool, Ariz. to Ernest and Betty Jo Hart .
He married Dusty Ezell in 1964 and together they had two children, Cheryl Annette and Philip Morgan . In 2011 he married Doris Meek in Burkes Garden, where they spent most of their time helping her parents on the ranch and with their medical needs.
Philip attended Willcox High School and graduated in 1963, where he was involved in football and track. He worked construction in Willcox and ranched in Portal, Ariz. He was an avid pilot and earned his private pilot license in 1978.
Philip is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Betty Jo , and brothers, Larry and Johnny. He survived by his wife Doris of Burkes Garden; his two children Cheri (Dan) Shull of Benson and Philip of Chaparral, N.M.; grandchildren Jacob (Kattie) Shull, Travis Shull, Caleb (Esther) Shull, Morgan Hart , Tanner Hart , Dallas Hart , Madison Hart ; great-grandchildren Ty and Alex Shull; brother Tim (Norma) Hart and sister Joanna (Rich) Hall.
A memorial service led by Johnny West will be held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 12, at First Baptist Church in Willcox. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Gideons International, Mt. Graham Camp, P O Box 0955, Safford, AZ 85546.
