December 2, 1941 - January 9, 2018
James Homer Wolfe, age 76 of Pigeon Forge, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
James a long standing member of the BPOE # 1925 of Gatlinburg for 49 years, serving several years as Exalted Ruler. He generously donated his time and effort to all of their charitable causes and fundraisers.
Although vision impaired, James was an avid reader. With the assistance of the Library of the Blind, he particularly loved mysteries and old westerns. He was a dedicated Tennessee fan and loved all types of sports but favored football. James had a larger than life personality with a soft kind spirit and enormous heart. To spend time with him you immediately knew where he stood on all matters, yet he never spoke unkindly of anyone. He loved playing video games and building snowmen with his grandchildren, all types of card games and music. At Christmas time, James loved filling his yard with decorations for all children to enjoy.
He is preceded in death by his parents: father, Elijah Wolfe; mother, Edith Bales Webb; and step-father, Melvin “Shorty” Webb.
James is survived by his wife of 23 years, Patricia; sons, Steve Wolfe and wife Melinda; , Marshall Wolfe, daughter, LaDawn Wolfe; step-daughter, Sandy Breeden and husband Ronny; grandsons, Andy Taylor and wife Samantha, Derek Cole and wife Macki; granddaughter, Zoe Wolfe and great-grandson, Luca.
The family will receive friends 12 noon – 1 PM Monday at Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Chapel, Pigeon Forge. Graveside service and interment will follow in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens, Pigeon Forge. Online condolences may be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com
