Blanche Owen Stott, 90, of Seymour passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017. She was born on December 28, 1926 in Sevierville. She grew up in Bethel Baptist Church and played the piano for the choir. Blanche was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church for over 50 years. She played the piano, sang in the choir, and worked in the Youth Department for several years. Blanche enjoyed being outside and caring for her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a retired school teacher from Sevier County who had a lasting impact on the lives of all the students she taught. Blanche loved her family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Ernest Owen and Addie Lee Wells Owen; husband, William Ralph Stott; brothers, Glen Wayne Owen, and Carl Clarence Owen; and her nephew, Bryan Ernest Owen.
Blanche is survived by her son, Anthony Wayne Stott; daughter, Lisa Ann Ownby and husband, Mike Ownby; brother, Eugene Owen and wife, Grace Owen; sisters-in-law, Helen Owen and Faye Owen; several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Valley Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 9000 Sevierville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Sunday, April 2nd with the funeral service to follow at 4 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Pastor Keith Vaughan will be officiating. Family and friends will meet 11 AM Monday at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery for the graveside service and interment.
