LaFORGE, ROBERT MALLORY - Professor Emeritus at University of Tennessee, died December 10, 1998, in Hermitage, Tenn. Preceded in death by: first wife, Anna Babelay LaForge; and son, Robert William LaForge. Survived by: wife, Reva Huffaker LaForge; sons, John V. (Martha) LaForge of Knoxville, James M. (Ruth) LaForge of Hodges, S.C.; four grandchildren, Lisa Roach, John LaForge II, James LaForge, William LaForge; one great-granddaughter, Rachel LaForge; one step-son, Craig J. (Nancy) Huffaker of Lincoln, Neb.; step-grandson, Aaron Huffaker; sister, Lucy (Shannon) McCampbell of Knoxville. A former member of Fountain City United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church. Received BS in Mechanical Engineering at UT, an MS degree in Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech. Participated in UT Men's Glee Club, the UT Marching Band, Zeta Tau Lambda and Lambda Chi Alpha fraternities, active in numerous engineering associations. He taught Sunday school and was tenor soloist, choir member and quartet member in several Knoxville churches. Served as an engineer and an intelligence officer in the Army during World War II. Retired from the Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel. Taught engineering at the University of Tennessee from 1948-1976. Graveside services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m., at Lynnhurst Cemetery with Mrs. Phyllis Hill, D.R.E. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fountain City United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church or Beverly Hospice Care, 1491 Mt. Juliet Road, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122. Arrangements by Gentry-Griffey Funeral Chapel.
