BROWN, DOROTHY NICHOLS - age 83 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Alexian Health Care Center in Chattanooga. A longtime resident of Knoxville, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Catlett and Rosa Walker Nichols and was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. She graduated from the University of Tennessee and was president of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She received a M.S. in Library Science from UT and was employed by the Knox County School District. She was a loving mother, an avid gardener and volunteer and will be greatly missed. Survivors include: her daughter, Kristin Huntley of Chattanooga; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Kelli Brown of Pensacola, FL., Michael and Anna Brown of Pensacola, FL.; five grandchildren: Colin and Logan Brown, Jack Huntley, Alessandra and Julia Brown; one brother and sister-in-law, Hugh Chandler and Martha Nichols of Oak Ridge; niece, Susan Collins of Jacksonville, FL.; nephew, Hugh Nichols Jr. of Oak Ridge; many wonderful cousins and friends. Graveside services will be 1 pm Wednesday in Shiloh Cemetery in Sevierville with the Rev. William Waterstrade officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be: Hugh Nichols Jr., Ed Goff, Robert Black, Ralph Turner, Jack Huntley, Logan Brown, and Colin Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association or Second Presbyterian Church of Knoxville. Ziegler Funeral Home, Athens is in charge of arrangements.
