Mary Norton Atchley, 77, of Seymour, went to be with King Jesus on Wednesday March 23, 2011 at Asbury Place Maryville. She was born March 17, 1934 in the Knob Creek community, daughter of Bill and Hattie Norton. Preceded in death by parents, and brother, Billy Norton.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lester Eugene Atchley; daughters, Vickie Lynn O’Fallon and husband Terry of Seymour, Kimberly Ann Maples and husband Jeff of Seymour, and Debra Jean Darnell and husband Randy of Ft. Myers, Florida; grandchildren, Christopher O’Fallon and wife Jessica, Dustin O’Fallon and wife Meghann, Jason Maples, Anna Maples of Seymour, Scott Darnell and wife Natalie of Little Rock, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Camden, Madelyn, Trevor, Jonathan O’Fallon and Owen Darnell; Ann Sutton, of Sevierville, is her best friend for 65 years.
Mary graduated from S.C.H.S. class of 1953. She was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She loved to cook and celebrate holidays with the family. She enjoyed growing flowers and plants, shopping in the malls, movies and dining out. Taking care of family was her career. A highlight in her life was witnessing the graduation of all the daughters from their chosen Universities and having their own careers. Mary was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank the nurses and CNA’s at Asbury for their loving and tender care of Mary. May God richly bless them.

Family will receive friends Friday March 25, 2011from 5-7 p.m. at Highland South Memorial Park. Funeral Service will be conducted by her Pastor, William H. Sims III at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be in Knob Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday March 26, 2011 at 9 a.m. Highland South Memorial Park Funerals and Cremations, 9010 East Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN in charge of arrangements.
