He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill & Mattie Smith; sisters, Mary Roysden & Helen Elliott; brothers, Glenn Hicks & Roy Hicks. Survivors: daughter: Wanda Sue Tarwater & husband Joe of Maryville; grandchildren: Stephanie, Bethanie & Allen Tarwater; brother: James Hicks of Clinton; sister: Josephine Lowe of Powell; ex-wife: Wanda Smelcer of Clinton; several nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 from 6-8PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with memorial service to follow in the chapel at 8:00PM. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of the arrangements.
