(November 14, 1934 - February 1, 2008) Joanne Pierce, age 73, of Newport, passed away Friday, February 1, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Lewis Pierce; and grandson, Matthew David Pierce; parents, Frank and Ora Lee Necessary; sisters, Greta Necessary and Mary Ellen Lawson. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Teresa Pierce, of LaVergne, TN, David and Kay Pierce of Newport, Freddy and Lynette Pierce of Newport; son, Oral Pierce; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Glen Black of Newport, Myra and Jackie Satterfield of Morristown; brothers, Fredrick Necessary of Baltimore, Maryland, Bobby Necessary of North Carolina, Paul Necessary of Montana; sisters, Rosa Lee Harper of Jonesboro, GA, Nancy Davenport, of Fayetteville, GA, Theresa Cannon of Atlanta, GA, Elaine Necessary of Fayetteville, GA; eighteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Sunday, February 3, 2008 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. John Hughes officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am, Monday, February 4, 2008 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Sunday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
