GOSE, JACK W. - age 81, a life-long resident of Knoxville, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2006 after a short illness. He was a charter member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church. He was born June 11, 1925 to George Clayton and Illa Mae Gose. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy as a radioman. As a master electrician, he was a foreman of many noteworthy buildings and projects in the Knoxville and surrounding areas. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Illa Mae Gose; his brother, Boyd Gose; and sisters, Marion Trotter and Betty Cobble. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Lorene Crosby Gose and daughters, Jeanie Richards and husband Don of Elizabeth City, N.C., Linda Rieck and husband Larry of Townsend, Tenn; stepson, Jack Pratt; grandchildren, Tammie Grevin and husband John, Frankie Pratt, Donnie Richards and wife Suzanne, Sean Richards and wife Wendy. His great-grandchildren, Megan and Jessie Grevin, Faith, Holston and Jackson Richards will miss their "Granpa Jack." Other survivors include sister-in-law, Mildred Gose; brother-in-law, Troy Trotter; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and close friends. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, 2200 Sutherland Avenue, Knoxville 37919. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church followed by services officiated by Reverend Kent Williams. Family and friends will go in procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for a graveside service and interment with Reverend Nick Crosby, nephew, officiating. Full military honors will be provided by East Tennessee Veteran Honor Guard. Serving the family: Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at N. Broadway.
