PEARL WHALEY- age 79, went home to be with her Blessed Savior on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. As a faithful Christian, Pearl loved to serve the Lord and give back, working for the Department of Human Services for over 30 years. She sang beautifully and played many instruments. Pearl loved to share her gift of singing with her family and friends at their homes and even sang often at Atchley Funeral Home. Her musical talents, selflessness and love of family will be remembered by all who knew her.
Pearl was preceded in death by her dear parents, Bruce and Vernie Myers.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 60 years, Gene Whaley; daughter, Gail Headrick and husband James; son, Larry Whaley and wife Pam; sisters, Cecil McCarter, Zula Tarwater, and Ruby Loveday; grandchildren, Kirk Whaley and wife Veronica, Jason Whaley and wife Jennifer, Alan Whaley and wife Nitsa, Christy Hawkins and husband Kevan, Brandon Headrick and wife Amanda, and Lori Cole and husband Keith; and her beautiful great grandchildren, Madelyn, Brady, Branson, Benson, Tyler, Julia, Katie, Madison, Hunter, Ava, AJ, and Asia; special friends, Martha Matthews and Liz Wilson; and nieces, nephews, cousins and a countless number of friends.
Funeral Service 7 pm Friday, November 7th in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Preston Joslin and Ray Ball officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 6:45 pm Friday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Family and friends will meet at 1 pm Saturday in Mattox Cemetery for interment with Rev.
