Charles William Currier, age 63, of Maryville, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War in 1968 as a door gunner, and he was a helicopter mechanic and flew them as well. Charlie worked on several farms in Blount Co. and in later years was employed by the State Dept. of Forestry. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Minnie Currier; several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his brothers, Bill Currier of Knoxville and Robert Currier of Alaska. He leaves behind his extended family and beloved dog (Baby) at Liberty Assisted Living, and his church family at Ridgeview Baptist Church, and a multitude of friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the youth of Ridgeview Baptist Church, 4234 Gamble Lane, Walland, TN 37886 or Bethlehem Memorial Chapel, 4904 Bethlehem Rd. Walland, TN 37886, in care of Clerlinda Mynatt. Family and friends may call at their convenience from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM Tuesday and from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
