Elmeta Bailey, of Knoxville, formerly of Kodak, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011after a brief illness, in the Mercy Main Transitional Unit. She was born September 16, 1930 to the late Theodore and Alfrettia Bailey. In additional to her parents, she was preceded in death by a special nephew, Quinton “Bucky” Layman.
She was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, and her greatest joy was her ministry to her Lord and the membership of Wallace Memorial during 25 years of employment there. This continued during her retirement years with senior adults and children.

Sisters: Ruby Layman and Juanita Cain
Special niece: Cliffetta “Tootie” Smith
Several other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews
Her second family, the Ben Barbee family-Brenda Barbee and Susan Olsen

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County A.R.C, for the Independent Living Program, 3000 N. Central Street, Knoxville, Tennessee 37917.
