He is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph James and Maggie Mae; brothers: Verl, Troy, Dewey, and Calvin; sisters: Bonnie, and Ailene. He is survived by his wife Lena; sons: Rickie and Michael; daughter-in-law: Sandra; granddaughter and husband: Megan and Derrick Gideon; grandson and wife: Anthony and Jenny Morgan; great-grandson: Caleb; The light of his life - great-granddaughter: Anna; his siblings: Joe Jr., Bob, Shirley, Betty, and Charles. His wishes are being honored by being cremated and his remains scattered at his boyhood home. A memorial service will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Hillview Baptist Church, Louisville with Rickie Morgan and Anthony Morgan officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Memorial Funeral Home of Maryville.
