He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, former co-teacher of Revealers Sunday School class, WWII U.S. Marine Iwo Jima Survivor, Lifetime member of Marine Corps League, retired from Avondale Farms Creamery. Preceded in death by wife Ruth O. Lewis, sons Gordon and Edwin. Survived by daughter and son-in-law Cara and Ken Boyd, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Special friends Preston and Frances Ryan, Bevin and Irene Brown. A Memorial Service to be held at 2 PM Saturday August 9th at Christ United Methodist Church, 7535 Maynardville Hwy. Rev. Dennie Humphreys, Rev. Charla Sherbakoff and Rev. Teresa Atkins McClure will be officiating. A military service will be held at The Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 5901 Lyons View Pike at 11:30 AM Friday August 8th.
