SAMS, MRS. BILLY (LETTY MAE) - age 95, passed away Saturday morning, July 29, 2006 at her home in Talbott. Mrs. Sams was a member of Talbott Baptist Church. She was the daughter of W. T. And Minnie Hooper Hardy; the widow of Billy Sams and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patsy Ann Vaughn; sister, Alice Witt; brothers, Fred Taylor Hardy, Clifford (Tip) Hardy, Charlie Frank Hardy and Floyd Elmer Hardy. Surviving Mrs. Sams are her sons and daughters-in law, Terry and Mary Lee Sams of Greeneville and Glenn and Anna Lou Sams of Moristown; grandchildren Linda D. Vaughn, Marietta, GA, Billy Vaughn, Knoxville, Walter B. Sams, Savannah, GA; great-grandson, William M. Sams; several nieces and nephews and special care givers, Tami, Ginger, Kristine, Judy, and Janie. Funeral services will be held by the Rev. Jerry Utsman at 8 p.m., Monday in Stetzer's Morristown Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Friends may express sympathy through memorials to Talbott Baptist Church.
