Benn Gaston Trentham, age 74, of Sevierville passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012. He was born in Elkmont to Richard and Anner Cogdill Trentham on June 17, 1937. Having grown up in the Happy Hollow community, Benn later moved to Florida in 1991. He returned to Wears Valley in 2005, where he lived his remaining years. Benn was a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Wears Valley where he loved to attend and sing with his brother, Hubert. Benn was also an avid collector of watches and knives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Anner Cogdill Trentham; brothers, Nip, Lester, Joe and Tommy Trentham; sisters, Tilda Cogdill and Ina Bryan.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law, Hubert Trentham, Paul and Suzie Trentham of Florida, Ollie and Pat Trentham of Seymour; half brother, David Trentham; brother-in-law, W.B. Bryan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna Lea and Carl Kelly Sr., Marjorie and Lonnie Henry, Emma Jean and Frank Rayfield; sister, Harlene Ward; nephews, Carroll, Greg, Tuck, Robert, Jimmy, and Rick Trentham, Willie and Burton Bryan, Carl Kelly, Jr.; nieces, Louise Jensen, Sue Kelly, Paula Sue Johnson, Melissa Tricky, Christy Trentham, and Linda Moore and many more nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews; special friend, Duke Jensen.
