Charles (Chuck) McGill, Jr., age 87 of Seymour, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015.
Chuck was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Barbara Jones McGill; son, Charles (Chuck) E. McGill; parents, Charlie and Alice McGill; and an infant baby girl.
Chuck was born in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and was the oldest son of nine children.
He was proud to have served his country as a Sergeant in the United Stated Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Owens Illinois Glass Company and was a member of First Baptist Church in Sevierville.
He is survived by his sons, David McGill and wife Sharon, Mitch McGill and Angela Spears; daughter, Cindy McCarter and husband Nicky; his grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah Mundo and husband Mark, Autumn McCray and husband Jesse, Amanda McGill, Samantha Kirk and husband Kendrick, Mercedes McGill, Alexis McCarter and Skye McCarter; great-grandsons, Jackson and Carter McCray; and sister, Doris Ann Hampton and husband Jim; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to special family members and caregivers, Janie Henry, Debbie Catlett and Brian Dinkens.
The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Carter officiating. Interment will be 1 PM Wednesday in Knob Creek Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post # 104. Online condolences may be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com
