Bennie Ray McFall , 92, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born at Clayton, New Mexico, Jan. 18, 1920, the son of Charles and Elzora Kear McFall and foster mother, Emma McRevey.
He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, a World War II Army veteran serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations, a member of Bob Campbell Post #1361 and the DAV. Bennie was a farmer and stockman in the Plevna community.
On June 27, 1946, he married Laurine Nusser in Hutchinson. Other survivors and their spouses include: their children, Lauretta and Bert Byrd of Inman, Pat and Beth of Lawrence, Gene and Cathy of Greensburg, Susan and Wayne Crotts of Woodward, Okla., NoraLee and Randy Cooper of Wichita; a brother, Wayne of Tennessee; a sister, Pauline Schillinger of Arizona; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters, Condon , Ivan, Dempsey, Jewel, Mattie and Edna.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Peace Creek Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Carey officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Elliott Mortuary. Memorial gifts may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church or Hospice of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
