James Raymond Montgomery, age 71 of Independence, Missouri passed away at his home on Monday, October 20, 2003. Monty was born October 31, 1931 in Middletown, Ohio to James and Alberta (Botner) Montgomery. He retired from the U.S. Navy after twenty-five years of service. Monty loved golfing and was a member of the “Sand Blasters” golf club through the local Ararat Shrine. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 21 in his home town. In his spare time he enjoyed watching baseball and football on TV.
