November 2, 1925 - March 20, 2017 Resided in Pigeon Forge, TN D.L. Cole, age 91 of Pigeon Forge, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 20, 2017. He was a member of Gum Stand Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorotha Cole; grandsons, Drew LaFollette and Nic Maples. Survivors include his children and spouses: Karen and Rick McElyea, Steve and Linda Cole, Lynn and Peggy Cole, Janet and Bill McClure, Marsha Huff and Terry Bradley, Glinda and Dennis Hale, Tony and Stacy Cole; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Rauhuff; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. The family wishes to extend a special "thank you" to Brandon and Keri Williams and the staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice. The family will receive friends 4-6:45 PM Thursday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Rev. Lowell Wilson and Rev. Roy Gose will officiate. Family and friends will meet at 11:30 AM Friday at Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens for graveside service and interment with Rev. Andy Miller officiating. Mr. Cole's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
