Edward Stanton Collins, age 87 of Gatlinburg, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at his home. Ed was a member of the Lion’s Club, the Oak Ridge City Council, and was Sunday School Superintendant at Kenwood Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. He proudly served as a church deacon for the past 48 years, starting at the First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge and ending with the First Baptist Church of Gatlinburg. Ed worked as Marketing Manager for General Electric in Energy Resources from 1951-1984. Ed’s hobbies included woodworking, gardening, traveling and spending time with his four daughters and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father James Harold Collins; mother Mary Rebecca Stout Collins; sisters Claire Collins DuBois and Helen Collins Watkins; brothers James Harold Collins, Jr. and Frank Henry Collins

Daughters and Sons-in-law: Sara Collins Runner, Katherine Collins and Robert Jeffrey Lackman, Melissa Collins and Frank Padgett Beck, Patricia Collins and Tech Alan Hartness

Funeral service 7 PM Thursday at First Baptist Church, Gatlinburg with Rev. Larry Burcham and Rev. Marvin Cameron officiating. Interment 11 AM Friday in Shiloh Cemetery.
