Anna Kate Marshall Walker, age 87 of Sevierville passed away Monday October 7, 2013.
She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville and DAR. Katie was a past Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution Spencer Clack Chapter, where she held many offices and chairmanships and was always a willing worker. She looked forward to visiting her many friends at any DAR function and State Conference. She loved and supported Tamassee DAR School for children in need at Tamassee, SC. She was a member of the Thomas Ogle Chapter USD of 1812, John Ogle NSCDXVII Century and several other lineage societies. She was proud of her family's pioneer roots in Sevier and Jefferson County that extended well before statehood. Her Spencer line took her to the Magna Charta and Charlemagne.
Mrs. Walker served for several years as a volunteer for the Baptist Health System of East Tennessee. She was named Volunteer of the Year in 2002. Her volunteer service included The Baptist Senior Health Care in Sevierville until its closure in 2008.
She was an accomplished musician and taught piano to many. She also played organ at the First Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Conley and Esther Marshall; husbands Gerald Hill and A.W. Walker, Jr.; infant brother John Marshall; brother Conly Marshall; aunt Reese Marshall Ripatti
