KNIGHT, LENORA McCARTER - born September 4, 1921 in Sevier County, passed away Friday evening, October 20, 2006. A retired inspector at Levi Strauss, she was a charter member of Washburn Street Baptist Church in Knoxville and was currently residing in Ridgeview Terrace Life Care in Rutledge. Preceded in death by husband of 67 years, Clyde W. Knight and daughters, Geneva Knight and Linda Knight Manuel; parents, Joseph and Callie McCarter; three brothers, Minyard, Winford and Raymond McCarter. Survivors: children and their spouses, Pat and Ronald Dunlap of Kodak, Ray and Charlotte Knight of Bulls Gap, Harold and Marsha Knight of Blaine, Verne and Betty Knight and Teresa and Dennis Brown of Rutledge, and Curtis and Janet Manuel of Rockwood; sisters and spouses, Velma and Robert Whittenbarger, Helen and Glen Greer; brother and sisters in law, Bobby and Evelyn McCarter, Virgie McCarter, Ruby McCarter and Wanda Lee McCarter; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday October 23 from 6-8 p.m. at the Highland Memorial Chapel. Funeral service to be conducted at 8 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Connie Elliott and Rev. Richard Young officiating. Family and friends will meet at Highland Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday by 1:45 p.m. to go in procession to Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 2 p.m. graveside and committal service.
