Duane Alvin Marshall, 93, of Seymour passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 8, 2017. He was a proud WWII Veteran and served at Iwo Jima while in the Army Air Corps. Duane was a member of the Burlington Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He worked and retired from the UT Physical Plant. Duane was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl McCarter Marshall; parents, Walter and Paralee Marshall; sister, Juanita Bilbrey; brother, Reevis Marshall; and his loved one, Lillian McCroskey.
Survivors:
Son and daughter-in-law: Duane David Marshall and wife, Sue;
Daughters and Son-in-law: Karen Wright and husband Jim Wright, Sr.;
Grandchildren, Jim Wright, Jr., Kevin Wright, Kara Pritchard and husband, Marvin, Sarah Morgan and husband, D.J., Rebecca Rigsby and husband, Michael;
Great-grandchildren, Jack Morgan, Ellie Morgan, Hank Morgan, Ava Rigsby, Delana Pearl and Madison Pritchard;
Several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church of Seymour, P.O. Box 818, Seymour, TN 37865-0818.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday, December 15th at Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour with the funeral service to follow at 7 PM in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Rev. Tom Robbins officiating. Family and friends will leave in procession at 10:15 am Saturday, December 16th from Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour to Middle Creek Cemetery for the graveside service with Pastor Archer Coppedge officiating.
