SMITH, age 77, of Dandridge, TN passed away Tuesday evening, April 20, 2010 in Rochester Hills, MI. She was born and raised in Dandridge, TN, the daughter of the late Henry and Trula Matthews. She will be remembered as a hard-working person who also was loving and caring and was always helping others. Ina was a gifted author, poet and writer of music lyrics, and truly enjoyed the art of writing. Preceded in death by her beloved children, Gail Carver, John Smith, George Smith and Debbie Ippolito; sisters, Etta Dodgen and Tina Perdue; brothers, George, Hubert, Howard and Dewey Matthews. She was a loving mother to her surviving children, Julia Kepsie, James Carver, Kenneth Smith and Dean Smith; sisters, Nellie Sims, Edna Matthews and Nancy Franklin; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Danny Matthews officiating. Interment to follow in Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge, TN (865) 397-2711
