Matthews, 62, of Sevierville passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017. He was born June 15, 1954 in Sevier County. Jimmy proudly served in the United States Army. He was a skilled carpenter for many years. Jim was also known as, "The Llama Wrangler", and had brought supplies to the top of Mt. LeConte with the help of packed llamas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tobe and Alice Matthews; and his brother, Jack Matthews. Jimmy is survived by his life companion, Lettie Cruze and her daughter, April Hurst; son, Logan Matthews; brother, Leonard Cardwell; and many friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM Monday, March 6th with the memorial service to follow at 3 PM in Atchley's Smoky Mountain Chapel, 220 Emert Street, Pigeon Forge, TN.
