Mrs. Rebecca Marine Mechtly, age 73 passed away Monday, September 17, at her residence in Rockwood, TN. Mrs. Mechtly was born August 31, 1939, in Sevierville, TN to John Robert and Mary Myrtle Chambers Marine. In 1956 she moved to Oklahoma City where she met and married R.R. (Bud) Mechtly. She lived there until 1988 then moved to Tennessee.
Mrs. Mechtly was a housewife who enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, playing bingo and cribbage. She also enjoyed bowling in her earlier years. Mrs. Mechtly was preceded in death by her parents; husband “Bud” and several brothers and sisters
Survivors include: son, Jack Mechtly and wife, Lela of San Angelo, TX; granddaughters, Victoria Mechtly of Idaho and Miranda Mechtly of NC; brothers, Robert Marine, Jr. of Knoxville, TN, Bill Marine of Pigeon Forge, TN, James Marine of Sevierville, TN; sister, Martha Letcho of Pigeon Forge, TN; numerous nieces & nephews and many friends,
The family will receive friends at Hurst Chapel in Sevierville, TN Saturday, September 22, 2012, from 1-2 p.m. with Pastor Ron Marine officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow at 2 p.m. in the Hurst Chapel Cemetery, Sevierville, TN.
