(November 9, 1939 - July 20, 2010) John Farmer, age 70, of Townsend, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Farmer and Callie Hatcher and brothers, James Blevins and Howard Hatcher, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Webb Farmer; daughters and sons-in-law, Suzie and Dennis Townsend and Sandy and Jimmy Husky all of Townsend; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Susie Farmer of North Carolina, John and Janet Farmer of North Carolina, and Jason Farmer of Townsend; sisters, Mildred Coulter of Walland, Sue Esser of Rockford, IL, Diane Riden of Maryville, and Rosemary Sparks of Townsend; brothers, Leonard Keeble of Maryville and Donnie Hatcher of Cherry Valley, IL; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 8:00 PM Friday, July 23, 2010, at Friendly Hill Baptist Church in Townsend, Rev. Fate Green officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 AM Saturday at Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment service.
