MARTIN, CLARA EFFIE - age 94, who would have been 95 on April 23rd, passed away Monday, April 20, 2009 at Shannondale Nursing Home. She was a member of Byerley's Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by parents, James and Ollie Martin; brothers, Johnnie, Ernest, Clarence, Carlos (Bud), Verlis and Herman Martin; sisters, Verna Smith and Naomi Arnett. Survived by sisters, Ethel Branam Nichols and husband, Rob, of Michigan and Millie Estelee Sloan; brother, John C. Martin and wife, Natalie, of Knoxville; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth, Josie, Pauline, and Evelyn Martin; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews. Services will be Thursday in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home at 8:00 pm with Rev. Ernie Sands officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm prior to the service.
