COTTRELL, JAMA MAPLES - 89, of Knoxville passed away Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Brakebill nursing home. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ida Maples of Sevierville. Mrs. Cottrell was a charter member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension. She was a devoted member of her church, serving as chairman of the altar guild and chairman of the church thrift shop for many years. Mrs. Cottrell attended the University of Tennessee. She worked as a teacher and later as a representative for Estee Lauder. Mrs. Cottrell was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charles Harvey Cottrell, Sr. and her sister, Nita Maples Price. Surviving are two sons, Charles Harvey Cottrell, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Knoxville, and William Thomas Cottrell; and four grandchildren, Charles Harvey Cottrell III and Mary Elizabeth Leggett of Knoxville, and Kevin Cottrell and Scott Cottrell of North Carolina. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 5:30pm at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension conducted by The Reverend Howard. The family will receive friends at a reception in the church parish hall following the service. Remembrances: Rachael's Lament, P.O.
