LOVEDAY, EUGENE CHARLES - age 81, of Seymour, Tennessee, passed away April 4, 2011. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Seymour. Mr. Loveday was born August 21, 1929, in Sevierville, Tennessee. Retired from Benco Plastics, he loved farming and farm equipment and plowed many a neighbor's garden as well as his own in Seymour, Tennessee. Gene never met a stranger and his "hey there, buddy" was familiar to folks throughout Sevier County and the Seymour community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fait and Maude Loveday; wife Mildred Loveday; daughter Eugenia Williams; brothers Glen Loveday, Ottis Loveday and sister Leota Adams. He is survived by his children Oliver Loveday, Laura Metz and Troy Petty; grandchildren James Williams, Noah and Gabriel Withington, Maggie Loveday, Brittany Clay, Elisabeth Metz, Benjamen Metz, Katherine Fenner, Robert Petty and great granddaughter Hannah Clay, as well as many nieces and nephews. Services are being held Saturday, April 9, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Seymour, Tennessee. The receiving of friends will be from12:00 -1:00 with a memorial service immediately following at 1:00. Dr. Bruce Yates, pastor, First Baptist Church will be officiating.
