LOVEDAY, JAMES OTTIS - age 91, of Karns, born Dec. 19, 1917; died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. Member of Grace Baptist Church, Oak Ridge Highway over 50 years - taught Sunday School to young boys, served as a deacon, choir member, and audio visual technician. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Opal Morris Loveday; parents, Emmert Fait and Maude Matilda Anne Loveday; brother, Glen Loveday; sister, Leota Adams; brother-in-law, H. E. Adam; sisters-in-law, Mamie Loveday, Mildred Loveday, and Marian Morris. Survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Pattie Loveday of Karns; daughter and son-in-law, Judith Loveday-Corbett and Wm. David Corbett of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Loveday, Jeremy Loveday and wife Ariaun of Knoxville, Kathryn and Christopher Corbett of Allen, Texas; great-grandson, Aiden Loveday of Knoxville; brother, Eugene Loveday of Seymour; sister-in-law, Jeannette Campbell of Marianna, FL; and several nieces and nephews. After graduating from Berry College, GA, he served our country honorably in the Navy during WWII. Employed by South Central Bell for 40 years. After retiring he gave his time as a dispatcher for the Karns Volunteer Fire Dept. His family knew him as a man with quick wit, supportive of his family at all times, skilled woodworker, gardener, and golfer (after retirement). The family will welcome visitation at Weaver Funeral Home, Oak Ridge Hwy from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, April 5, 2009. A celebration of his life will follow at 4 pm with Rev. Mark Braddom officiating. Family and friends will meet for the interment at 11:00 am Monday, April 6, 2007 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park, Oak Ridge, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Baptist Church designated to the building fund, Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries, or the Gideons International, P.O.
