Reverend Roy A. Berrier, Sr., preacher, barber, husband, father, grandfather, farmer, and friend passed on to Glory Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 at his home in New Market. Born on February 29, 1936, Roy was a Baptist preacher for 45 years and pastored several churches. He was currently the pastor of Union Valley Baptist Church. He barbered at Barnes Barber Shop for 48 years. Preacher Roy lived everyday of his life for Jesus and was a great example for all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by wife and mother of his children Mary Lee Berrier, parents Bill and Nova Berrier, twin sister Joy Rhea Smith, and brother Billy Berrier.

Funeral service 1 PM Saturday, November 8th in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Reverends Mark Williams, Ronnie White, and Robert Nichols officiating. Eulogy delivered by Congressman John Duncan. Interment will follow in Boyd’s Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:30-8:30 PM Friday, November 7th at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
