John Junior Reed, 67, of Newport, died Monday, January 4, at his home.
He was retired from Quaker Oats and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors: wife, Letha Reed of the home; children, Clyde Reed, Ricky Reed, Elbert Reed, and Lisa Reed Gregg, all of Newport, and Johnna Reed of Nashville and Billy Reed of Johnson City; stepchildren, James Collie, Timmy Gass, Sandra Kay Cutshaw, Mary Worex, and Joyce Starnes, all of Newport; sisters, Bonnie Delph of Mooresburg, Shirley Walker of Bybee, and Elizabeth Ball and Lillie Gambrell, both of Newport; brothers, Manuel Parker of Morristown and Joseph Parker of Mosheim; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other survivors: several nieces, nephews and special friends, Leonard Ottinger and Larry Ball.
The family received friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday and will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 7, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Dale Hayes officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Costner-Maloy Funeral Home is in charge.
