She was a faithful member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church for 50 years where she also taught Sunday school. She worked in the ladies dress department at Proffitt's for 25 years. Lucille enjoyed service projects, helping the community and was always looking for ways to help others. She also enjoyed shopping, gardening, decorating, ceramics and decoupage. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Susie Underwood; her spouse of 53 years Ralph Knight; nephew, Tommy Joe "Brother" Knight, Jr. Survivors include her Sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis and Patty Knight, Michael and Melodie Knight Grandchildren: Denise (Ryan) Hoomes, Jonathan Knight Great-grandchildren: Luke and Audrey Hoomes Loving niece: Darlene Jones Nieces: Bunny Bright and Diane Trent Black Nephew: Gail Stephens Trent Loving dog: Ginger Several great-nieces and great-nephews Memorial donations may be sent to Rocky Hill Baptist Church, 7409 S. Northshore Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919 or to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive 5-7 PM Thursday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home.
