He was born on January 17, 1929, in Sevier County. He was an Army veteran and a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church. In 1959, Mr. Knight started Knight Construction Company and built many homes throughout Knox County. He later worked as construction supervisor for R.W. Graf Construction and retired in 2000. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Wilson and Sarah Ogle and Willie and Elizabeth Knight, parents Steve and Martha (Ogle) Knight, brother Tommy Joe Knight and sister Nora Trent. Survivors: Wife of 53 years: Margarett “Lucille” Knight Sons and daughters-in-law: Dennis and Patty Knight, Michael and Melodie Knight Grandchildren: Denise and Jonathan Knight Sisters: Lena Bright, Lavona Morgan Mother-in-law: Susie Underwood Several nieces and nephews Family and friends will meet 10 AM Wednesday at Oak Grove Cemetery for graveside service and interment. Dr. Terry Kirby will officiate. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
