U.S. Veteran Claude Warren Strange, age 93, of Dandridge, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 24, 2016. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of Swann’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, and a member of Hamblen Masonic Lodge 767 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Daisy Strange; sisters, Bernice Hall, Mable Strange, Mary Huiting and Martha (Thurman) Loveday; brother, Colbert Strange; former wife Doris Strange. He is survived by his sons, Claude (Earlene) Strange, of Newport and Jerry Strange of Dandridge; brother, Cecil Strange of Dandridge; sisters, Gladys (Bill) Sellars and Deloris Williams of Dandridge; grandchildren, Claude E. “Chuck” Strange and Julie Strange of Newport; great-grandchildren, Tanner (Kayla) Strange of Knoxville and Taylyn Noel Strange of Newport; sister-in-law, Evelyn Strange of Kodak; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Special “Thank you” to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. The family will receive friends for 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 27, 2016 with funeral services following at Swann's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at 7:00 pm., with Rev. Randy Haun and Rev. John Price officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in Swann’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, with military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Swann’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, P. O. Box 369, Dandridge, TN 37725.
