Gennie B. Black, age 78, of the Grassy Fork Community, died Monday morning, September 12, 2005, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
She was a member of Black's Chapel Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Black; parents, John Riley and Ollie Belle Mooneyham; one grandson, Kenneth Wayne Jenkins Jr.; brothers, Claude, Hayden, Ted, Oll, and Norman Mooneyham; and sisters, May Cagle and Ola Cogdill.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Diane Black, of Grassy Fork; daughters and sons-in-law, Wilma and D.C. Ramsey, of Del Rio; Mary Kate and Danny Fish, of Hartford; Mildred and Kenneth Jenkins, of Grassy Fork; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one step-grandson; sisters, Rosie Black, Dolly Black, Nita Frisbee, Mozella Ford, all of Grassy Fork, and Nina Mae Valentine, of Newport; two brothers, Junior Mooneyham, of Grassy Fork, and Clayton Mooneyham, of Hickory, N.C.; also several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2005, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Ball, Rev. Gary Henderson, and Rev. Danny Green officiating.
Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Black's Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral services at Manes Funeral Home.
