McFarland, Clyde E. passed away on his 88th birthday, Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at his home in Strawberry Plains. He served in the US Army Air Corp and retired from White Stores after 22 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather and was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, one brother and daughter in law Patricia McFarland. Survivors include his devoted wife of 68 years, Martha (Fisher) McFarland; daughter and son in-law, Elizabeth Ann & Harold Owens of New Market; son, Allen McFarland of Moshiem; son and daughter in-law, Ricky & Tracey McFarland of Sneedville; special nephew and wife, Jeff & Karen McFarland of Strawberry Plains; brother, Clifton McFarland of Strawberry Plains; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be: grandsons, Nathan McFarland, Kenny McFarland, Allen (Mackey) McFarland II, Keith McFarland, Mark McFarland and Jeff McFarland. Honorary pallbearers will be: grandson, Kevin McFarland and great grandsons, Ethan and Blake Stout, Allen McFarland III, Seth McFarland, Kayden McFarland, David W. Burgner, Jackson McFarland. Family will receive friends Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 5:30 till 7:00 pm at Highland South Funeral Home with services following in the Chapel. Tim Owens, Allen McFarland II and Allen McFarland officiating. Family and friends will meet Sunday morning, June 24 for 10 a.m. interment at Highland South. The family wishes to thank the staff of Covenant Home Health and Hospice for their support and care during these past few weeks.
