Hoyt Edgar Jones, age 81, of Cosby, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2003, at his home.
He was a member of English Creek Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked 39 years for Southern Railroad before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Addie Jones, five brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eula Jones, of the home; daughters: Linda Williams, of Cosby; Peggy Burns, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and Judy (Bob) Schultz, of Seymour; grandchildren: Scottie W. Lancaster and Tommy Williams, of Cosby; Tracy B. Burnette and Michael Burns, of Lawrenceville, Ga; David Schultz, of Seymour; and Becky S. Terry, of Johnson City; six great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at Union Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Smith and Rev. M.L. White officiating.
Family received friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
