Howard Justice McAnnally Sr. died April 27, 2013, in Woodstock, Ga. Born March 28, 1923, in Robbins, Tenn. Howard served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in Okinawa. He married Forrestene Waldrop in 1951, sharing 38 wonderful years in Birmingham, Ala., until her death in 1989. Upon retirement, he moved to Gatlinburg, volunteering for 10 years with the National Park Service.
Survived by son, Jay McAnnally (Laura), Kennesaw, Ga.; daughter, Cindy McAnnally Snowden (Mike), Havana, Fla.; granddaughters, Erin, Kelsey and Callan McAnnally, Kennesaw, Ga.; wife and dear friend, Anna Branam, Sevierville.
Services Thursday, May 2, 2013, 11 a.m. EDT, NorthStar Church, Kennesaw, Ga.; graveside 3:30 PM CDT Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville, Ala.
Memorial gifts to Friends of the Smokies, P.O. Box 1660, Kodak, TN 37764-7660; designate “Trails Forever.”
