Roy I. Phillips, age 87 of Sevierville passed away Monday, September 12, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Phillips; daughter, Teresa "Terry" Franklin; grandson Brian Mark Franklin; parents, James and Elizabeth Phillips; step-mother, Rachel; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Louella and Hobart Justus and all of his earthly siblings except for one.
Survivors include his children, Brenda Carr and husband Larry, Teddy Phillips and wife Doris, Danny Phillips and wife Joan; son-in-law, Jackie Franklin; grandchildren, Donna (Mike) Killebrew, Bradley (Shelley) Franklin, Shawn (Stephanie) Carr, Shane (Tina) Carr, Shannon (Leslie) Carr, Scott (Joey) Phillips, Christopher (Kelly) Phillips, Dustin (Kendra) Phillips; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Lester Phillips; special friends, Terry Blanton, Cecil Ward and Larry Baker; nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special "thank you" to Fort Sanders Sevier Nursing Home staff for the love, care and respect Mr. Phillips received while there.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Carr officiating.
