Raymond G. Ramsey, age 81 of Louisville, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011, at the TN State Veterans Home in Knoxville. He belonged to Providence Baptist Church in Sevierville, was a veteran of the Korean War having served 3 years, coached baseball for over 50 years, retired as Superintendent of Public Works in the City of Manassas Park, VA, played golf for many years, was an officer and member of Lions Club of Manassas Park, officer and member of Moose Club of Manassas, officer and member of Bull Run Coon Hunters Association and lifetime member of VFW, Manassas Park, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Minyard and Ella Ramsey; son-in-law, David Murphy and 7 brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Ramsey; children: daughter, Janice Murphy; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Julie Ramsey; 5 grandchildren: 3 grandsons, Davie, Josh and Hunter, 2 granddaughters, Kristen and Allison; 4 great grandchildren, Hailie, Madasyn, Ashley and Dylan; sisters, Ruby Chambers, Mae Manis and Bonnie Carr.
Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Providence Cemetery, Sevierville, for a graveside service with Rev. W. A. Gaylon officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
