JOHNSON, OSCAR L. - age 78, of Seymour, went to sleep peacefully to be with his Lord on Friday, April 17, 2009. He was a member of Old Time Gospel Baptist Church. Oscar retired from Knox County Schools and East Tennessee Packing Company. He is preceded in death by his wife, June Watts Johnson; parents, Adam and Mae Johnson; brothers, Clarence, Marshall, James Edgar, and Mayford Johnson; sisters, Ethel Greenway and Mary Ruth Dixon. Oscar is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Helen Dockery Lambdin and husband Jerry; sisters, Nelle Lane and Virginia Rickett; special loved one, Velma Ogle; beloved god-child, Charla Davis of Ft. Worth, TX; and wealth of nieces, nephews, and extended family that he adored. The family will receive friends Monday, April 20th, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Highland South Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 21st, 2009 at 12:00 PM at Sherwood Memorial Gardens on Alcoa Highway with Rev. Lawrence Ford officiating.
