HOUSER, MR. ALVIN LOUIS "LOU" age 77, of Knoxville, passed away on Saturday, June 15th, 2013. He was a United States Army Veteran, retired from Kroger in Seymour after 20 years of service, and was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. Lou loved spending time with his family, with a special place in his heart for his two grandchildren. He loved sports of all kinds, especially watching his grandson play baseball and football. He also enjoyed his granddaughter's cooking. Most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and kept his eye on the prize and finished the race well. He is preceded in death by parents, Harrison J. and Nella Spangler Houser; brothers, Kyle and Kenneth Houser and brother-in-law, Bill Williamson. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Eleanor McNeal Houser; sons, Jeff Houser, and wife Barbara French Houser, and Jay Houser; grandchildren, Blake and Brooke Houser; siblings, Kermit Houser, and wife Louise, Curtis Houser, and wife Wanda, Barton Houser, and wife Doris, Mary Nell Williamson, Eula Garner, and husband Ralph. A special thank you for the loving care he received while at Shannondale Nursing Home and Elmcroft Assisted Living. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 18th, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Highland South Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 19th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Highland South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to: Sevier Heights Baptist Church, 3232 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920.
