Shirley Black Coggins, age 73, of Hartford passed away Tuesday April 30, 2013, at Physicians Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Blacks Chapel Church for more than 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Coggins; parents, Rhoda and Stanley Black; brother, Arlie Black and sister, Barbara Webb. She is survived daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Von Black of Hartford, Carla and Danny James of Newport; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Zola Black, Chris and Tammy Black; sisters, Wanda Benton, Vinita Coggins, Patsy Ford and Joy Brown all of Hartford; sister-in-law, Maxine Black; brother-in-law, Ralph Webb; grandchildren, Carl Wayne Self, Nikki and Lance Kelley and Kent Black; great-grandchildren, Jordan Self, Alyssa Self and Cooper Kelley; and special friend, Junior Mooneyham. She is also survived by several, nieces, nephews and many other special friends and family. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, May 3, 2013 at Blacks Chapel Church with Rev. Jerry Raines and Rev. Danny Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Blacks Family Cemetery.
