She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde R. Benson. Survivors: Son: Bob Benson Sisters: Willie Cobb and husband Charlie, Joyce Norton, Georgia Mason Sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Jessica and Ray Benson, Lois Garrett The family would like to thank, and is very grateful to, caregivers Janet Johnson, JoAnn McCarter and LaTonya Williamson as well as the Home Instead Agency for their commitment to Carrie’s well being and enhancing the quality of her life to the fullest extent possible during the progression of her disease. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East Tennessee Alzheimer’s Association, 2200 Sutherland Ave. Suite H102, Knoxville, TN 37919. Funeral service 7 PM Monday in Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Chapel. Interment 11 AM Tuesday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens.
