Grace Jean Hensley Rice, age 66, of Bybee, went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2003, at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was of the Methodist faith and a member of Bruners Grove United Methodist Church.
She worked at Stokely Van Camp and was a loving and caring wife, mother, nana, and mammaw.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Leslie S. and Zora B. Hensley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William J. and Flora H. Rice; and grandson, Joseph Eugene Rice.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Rice; daughter, Krista Henry; son and daughter-in-law, John and Angela Rice; granddaughters, Chelsea Henry and Paige Rice, all of Bybee; brothers and sisters-in-law: Buck and Sandra Hensley, Michael and Carolyn Hensley, all of Newpor; Gary and Joyce Hensley, of Galax, Va.; Bryan and Betty Hensley, of Dandridge; brother, David Hensley, of Newport; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Gary Hughes, of Bybee; sister, Kimberly Jones, of Newport; special cousin, Betty Romines and her husband, Fred, of Knoxville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2003, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Hollifield officiating, with burial 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2003, at Bruners Grove Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
